The 2022 FIVB Volleyball World Championship will be held in Russia from August 26 to September 11. This time the tournament will take place not in one city, but in ten at once, which will make it possible for even more fans to see the matches.

Yekaterinburg has become one of the cities to host the World Championship. On August 27–29, 5 matches of the tournament will take place here. MUST SEE

Church on Blood

One of the key landmarks of the city you definitely need to visit while in Yekaterinburg is the golden-domed Church on Blood built in the beginning of the 21st century on the site where the Romanov family was shot in 1918. You can visit the Church on Blood in Yekaterinburg any day from 07:30 to 23:00. Services are held here in the morning and in the evening every day.

Sevastyanov’s House

Not far from the Church on Blood, in Lenin Prospect, there is the main architectural landmark — the Sevastyanov’s House, which stands out among other city buildings due to its powerful appearance and bright colors. The Sevastyanov’s House is considered one of the most luxurious buildings in Yekaterinburg and it’s included in the Cultural Heritage Register of the Russian Federation.

Weiner Street

Be sure to visit Weiner Street which is called a local Arbat. In the 19th century, this street was a center of trade, and now it is a favorite place for walks among locals and tourists. There are many interesting cafés, monuments, and stores in Weiner Street.

Yeltsin Center

The Yeltsin Center opened in 2015 houses the Museum of the First President of Russia — Boris Nikolaevich Yeltsin, a native of the Sverdlovsk Region. Inside, there is a large exhibition space, a museum, a restaurant, a bar, and many unique shops tourists go to the same as to exhibitions. And the territory in front of the Center is equipped for recreation, walks, and sports: here everyone will find something interesting for themselves.

Keyboard Monument

If you want to take unusual photos, come to the Keyboard Monument located in Gorky Street. Its size is 4 by 16 meters and the total weight of keys is more than 100 tonnes. The urban lore says that if you make your most cherished wish and then jump on Enter, then the wish will definitely come true. And if you reach the Ctrl + Alt + Enter keys with your friends, you can reboot your relationships: this is how local lovers often reconcile after quarrels.

Observation Deck In the Vysotsky Business Center

You can see the city from a bird’s-eye view on the main observation deck of Yekaterinburg — in the Vysotsky Business Center. It is located on the 52nd floor, at the height of 186 meters. The panorama stretches for 25 km and captures not only the Ural capital, but also the nearest cities — Berezovsky and Aramil. There is a restaurant on the floor below, where you can also enjoy the view of the city from a height, but sitting at a table instead.

Gorky Street

In Yekaterinburg, Gorky Street is one of the oldest, and now it is a point of attraction for young people. The most beautiful and expensive restaurants and stores are located here, there is a recreation and walking area on the embankment. It is where you can make gorgeous shots against the background of the modern city and enjoy contemporary architecture.

First Norman Foster’s Building in Russia

In 2020, a new modern tower appeared in Gorky Street to host the headquarters of the Russian Copper Company. This is the first project Norman Foster, a star of world architecture, managed to implement in Russia. At different times of the day, shades of the building colors change from golden to brown. Pashtet (Pate) Restaurant
